PAF HONOR HIGH FLIERS @FLAG RITES

            Five (5) Air Force achievers were recognized today during the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base Grandstand.  An officer, 3 enlisted personnel and a civilian employee were the latest in the roster of Air Force high fliers who brought honor and prestige to the Command. 

            Public Information Director, Lt Col Miguel Ernesto G Okol named the awardees – Major Michael  Daniel P Albano, SSgt SSgt Fernan D Perido, SSgt  Ma.  Aileen A Padroness, Sgt Crusado P Pabulayan and Mr. Armando A Gutierez. The morning activity also coincided with the commemoration of the 111^th Civil Service Anniversary.

            In his speech, Air Force Chief Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP gave credence to the civil servants of the Air Force and cited their important contribution to the mission accomplishment of the Command. He said the civilian employees were crucial part of the every day mission of the Air Force even as he  noted that the awardees brought inspiration to the Air Force family and added that their individual accomplishments was something to cheer about - a piece of good news for the Air Force.

            Gold Cross awardee, SSgt Fernan D Perido of the 710^th   Special Operations Wing was cited for his gallantry in action during an encounter with heavily armed terrorists in Tuy, Batangas. 

            Maj Michael Daniel P Albano distinguished himself for his academic prowess in a course taken in Canberra, Australia.

            SSgt Ma.  Aileen A Padrones and Sgt Crusado P Pabulayan, both members of the Philippine Dragon Boat Team, were cited for their participation as members of the Philippine Dragon boat Team that won 2 golds and 2 silver in the 10th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Tampa Bay, Florida last August.

           Mr. Armando A Gutierez was awarded the Gold Service Pin for 40 years of continuous meritorious service to the air Force.
