AIRMEN@ALAY-LAKAD 2011

The AFP Chief of Staff Gen Eduardo SL Oban Jr AFP with the Air Force Chief Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP led the 65-strong PAF contingent who participated in the annual walk-for-a cause event, Alay-Lakad 2011.  The PAF contingent was among at least a hundred different walk groups from the AFP, government agencies and civil society that joined the activity.

According to Public Information Director, Lt Col Miguel Ernesto G Okol, the annual trek started off at Vicente Sotto Street, Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex and wound up at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park with a program that recognized supporters and participants of the fund raising activity. He added that the Air Force donated a check for Php 50, 000.00 to Alay-Lakad Foundation.   

The annual activity advocates the health benefits of walking and encourages participation of the different groups in society.  Out-of-school youth and other education-related projects are the main beneficiaries of the yearly fund raising event #
