FOR HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The Philippine Air Force recently assembled to advocate for health and the environment.  Last Saturday, 14 May 2011, the PAF Bikers led by Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP and  his staff pedaled to the clean-up venue to encourage fitness and to demonstrate alternative transportation in this time of prohibitive fuel rates,  while a team of Airmen, with local community officials, conducted  the clean-up activity.

Airmen together with local officials of Barangay 201 Balagbag, Kalayaan Village cleared and declogged rubbish-laden waterways and cleaned main thoroughfares of the barangay.  Residents were pleased to see the Airmen help the community in clearing the “esteros” and welcomed the outreach activity.

The event is one of the slated pre-anniversary community--outreach projects of the PAF as it celebrates its 64^th year on 1July 2011. #
