PAF RUNNERS JOIN HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCACY RUN

 

At least a thousand participants from different government agencies  and the private sector will join the PAF during the conduct of the “Respect for Human Rights” Advocacy Run set for Saturday, June 4, 2011. It is expected that Air Force Chief Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP will lead the PAF contingent with the HPAF staff and unit commanders.

The activity pushing for Human Rights and at the same time advocating for the health benefits of running, will be replicated simultaneously in 8 major Air Force bases – Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Danilo Atienza Air Base in Cavite City, Basa Air Base and Clarkfield, Pampanga, Antonio Bautista Air Base, Palawan, Gen. Benito Ebuen Air Base, Mactan, Edwin Andrews Air Base, Zamboanga.

In Metro Manila, the staging area will be at Block 12 near IMAX of the Mall of Asia grounds, three routes will be set up to determine the categories – 3K runners will turn in front of Hongkong Sun Plaza along Macapagal Avenue, 5K runner will turn at the Cart Track of Macapagal Avenue, while the 7K runners will turn at the CCP Complex. All runners will end at Block 12 near IMAX of the Mall of Asia. Participants are expected to join the culminating program right after the run. Chairperson of the Commission on Human Rights, Hon. Loreta Rosales will grace the closing ceremony.

The event is one of the pre-anniversary activities of the PAF for the forthcoming 64th anniversary celebration set for July 1, 2011 with this year’s chosen theme: “Ang Inyong Hukbong Himpapawid: Kaakibat Sa Kaunlaran at Kaisa Sa Kapayapaan”.#
