PRESS RELEASE 18 January 2010
DOCTRINE LAUNCH MARKS API 8TH ANNIVERSARY
Doctrine and manual launching and its subsequent presentation to office/unit beneficiaries were the highlights as the Air Power Institute (API) celebrated its 8th Foundation Anniversary today. The simple anniversary program was held this morning at the Officer’s Clubhouse in Fernando Air Base. Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP was Guest of Honor and Ms. Jocelyn Rabena was Special Guest.
Outstanding members of API were also given due recognition. P2Lt Rey V Santos, awarded the Military Merit Medal, led this year’s API list of awardees. Capt Jonathan B Panes (Officer of the Year), TSgt Carlito C Pascua Jr (NCO of the Year) and Sgt Louie Anthony L Sibal (AM of the Year) complete the lineup of awardees.
This year’s API anniversary was made more significant with the launching of four fully (4) completed manuals and the presentation of each to commanders of each end-user units/offices. The four manuals included the Doctrine on Civil Military Operations, 250th Presidential Airlift Wing Organizational Manual, 15th Strike Wing Organizational Manual and Doctrine on Night Surface Attack Tactics.
The Air Power Institute (API) is mandated to develop doctrines and promote airpower awareness not only within the PAF but throughout the AFP as well. It has three main functions: doctrines development, airpower advocacy and knowledge management (library operation). Lt Col Jess G Estoesta is the incumbent Commanding Officer of the API. |
