PAF BIKERS JOIN HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCACY
The Philippine Air Force will join representatives from the different government agencies and private sector in a 40-kilometer biking event set for 18 June 2011. The sports cum social awareness affair advocates the Air Force’s thrust for respect for human rights, peace and good governance. It is expected that Air Force Chief Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP, a biking enthusiast, will lead the PAF contingent - the HPAF staff and unit commanders - that will form part of at least two hundred (200) Air Force participants. The advocacy biking event will start off at 6:00 o’ clock in the morning after the Safety and Route Briefing. At the culminating program to be held at the Col Jesus Villamor Air Base Grandstand, the PAF will present certificates of appreciation to sponsors and participants as well. Representatives from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will address the gathered crowd before the signing of the Advocacy Pledge Wall will take place. The activity creating public awareness for Human Rights and good governance is one of the pre-anniversary activities of the PAF for the forthcoming 64th anniversary celebration set for July 1, 2011 with this year’s chosen theme: “Ang Inyong Hukbong Himpapawid: Kaakibat Sa Kaunlaran at Kaisa Sa Kapayapaan”. |
