PAF ADOPTS 60 CHILDREN

            It will be a prelude to the observance of “Father’s Day” as the Air Force will launch “Adopt-A-Child Program” set for Saturday, June 11, 2011.  The event will treat pre-selected sixty (60) indigent children, 28 boys and 22 girls from Barangay 186, Maricaban in Pasay City.  The lucky kids will have a day of treats accompanied by their respective “daddy-for-the-day”. The special event will be spearheaded by no less than Air Force Chief Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP.

            According to a schedule of pre-anniversary activities from Lt Col Miguel Ernesto G Okol, the Public Information Office Director, the event will commence at 3:00 o’ clock in the afternoon of June 11.  The adopted kids of the Air Force for that day will have a tour of the Philippine Science Centrum in Marikina and other interesting places in the metropolis. At least 50 members of the Air Force will accompany the children in their tour.  The day will end at the PAF Museum where each child will receive gifts from their “daddy- for-the-day”.   He stressed that the program was lined up as one of the main pre-anniversary activities of the PAF to cover the most important advocacies of the PAF –human rights, good governance, environment, community involvement and children’s rights.

            Other upcoming activities to highlight this year’s celebration of the Air Force’s 64^th founding anniversary are the PAF Recollection with Bro. Bo Sanchez at the PAF Gymnasium ( 17 June), and Advocacy Biking ( 18 June).  This year’s PAF anniversary theme is: “Ang Inyong Hukbong Himpapawid: Kaakibat Sa Kaunlaran at Kaisa Sa Kapayapaan”.
