              CELEBRATING TWO DECADES OF GENUINE SERVICE

The 710^th Special Operations Wing (SPOW) celebrates 20 years of noteworthy accomplishments tomorrow, July 19, 2011, with a formal program to be held at 9:00 o’ clock in the morning at the 710^th SPOW Headquarters, Air Force City, Mabalacat, Pampanga.  Lt Gen Oscar H Rabena AFP will be Guest of Honor with Ms. Jocelyn B Rabena as Special Guest.  It is expected that the HPAF staff and major unit commanders will also join in the celebration. The All Female Silent Drill leading the pre-anniversary program attraction.

Recognition of outstanding individuals is one of the highlights of the red-letter day.  This year’s list of awardees contributed to the successful initiatives of the Wing not only to maintain order but also in realizing projects that benefited immediate communities adjacent to installations. These initiatives easily won over support and respect of the general populace.

Gold Cross awardees Capt Francisco M Mangubat and SSgt Menardo C Ibañez, lead the Wing’s anniversary Honor Roll. InSTEP Awardees include 1Lt Jesse Glenn A Gagacruz (Integrity), MSg Samuel T Nagac (Posthumous –Service), SSg Rosendo R Ricaplaza (Service), 740^th Combat Group (Teamwork), Sgt Vanie T Estimada (Excellence), Lt Col Arnel L Villareal (Professionalism) and TSg Rolando G Berber (Professionalism).

Special awards will also be presented to non-members of the Wing for their valuable support. The list of Special Award recipients is led by Brig Gen Eduardo L Lacanienta AFP (Res), Commander of the 1^st Technical & Administrative Service Brigade, AFPRESCOM.  Other awardees include Ms. Shelley Ann Conradson, PADI Master Instructor, Ms. Betty Romero, Department Director of the Lifeline Foundation Support Team, Inc., Hon. Isabelita P Gravides, Brgy Chairperson, UP Campus, Q.C., Mr. Edgardo S Lagman, Division Manager of Semi-Calaca Power Plant Corp., and Mrs. Gemma G Gusi owner of Triple G Resorts.

On the other hand, completed Wing projects to be blessed after the anniversary program include the Grotto, Bike Trail, Stage House and Plant Nursery. The blessing of the Nursery coincides with the Tree Planting activity while the inaugural Mountain Biking activity will commence after the blessing of the bike trail.

Chief Sky Warrior, 710^th SPOW Commander, Brig Gen  Romeo V Poquiz AFP, will lead the day’s activities with the chosen theme: “Dalawang Dekadang Paglilingkod Sa Sambayanan Tungo Sa Kapayapaan At Kaunlaran”.#
