PAF-PN CONCLUDE “DAGIT ‘09”

The Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Navy conducted an Interoperability Exercise dubbed as “Dagit 09” from December 7-10, 2009. Members of the Philippine Navy from the Philippine Fleet, the  Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG), NAVAL Air Group (NAG) and tactical units of 15th Strike Wing, 710^th Special Operations Wing (SPOW), 205TH Tactical Helicopter Wing, Air Defense Wing and the 505th Search and Rescue participated in the four-day interoperability exercise.

Aside from honing skills in the exercises conducted, camaraderie between the Navy and Air Force participants were heightened. Prior to the culmination of the exercises, participants from the PAF and the PN took part in the fellowship games - basketball game was conducted at the 15th SW gymnasium while the airsoft games were held  at the training grounds near 1898 Avenue.

Closing ceremony of the event was held last December 11, 2009, at the 15th Strike Wing Officers Club, Major Danilo Atienza Air Base in Sangley Point, Cavite City.  The well-appointed ceremony attended by Commanders of both the PAF and the PN -: Deputy Commander of the Philippine Fleet CMMDR EDGAR L ABOGADO AFP, the Exercise Director CPT INGEMER S PERNES PN, Deputy Wing Commander of 15th  Strike Wing COL JEFFREY DELGADO PAF (GSC), Deputy Exercise Director LTC FIDEL CRUZ PAF (GSC), NAVSOG Commander CMDR ERIC RAMOS PN, Deputy Commander of NAG CMDR NOEL S CUNANAN PN, Director for Fleet Training Center CMDR RUEL SAUNOY PN, Director for Doctrine and Exercise planning CMDR OMAR ANICIETE PN, Philippine Fleet Director for Operation CMDR ROMMEL LABRADOR PN, Representatives  LT FREDDIE PARPAN PN (N-8),  MAJ MYROADE DE LEON PN (A-3/A-8), PAF Communication Liaison MAJ WINFRED CAOILE PAF, CPT ALFREDO VICENTE PAF of 205th, MAJ DONATO PAF of ADW, CPT ERWIN HERNAEZ PAF of SPOW.

BGEN JOSE TONY E VILLARETE AFP, 15^th SW Commander and keynote speaker of “Dagit’09”, expressed his approval and elation over the success of the exercise.  With expectations met and purpose attained, the Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force look forward to another Interoperability exercise next year.
