GOTICO IS NEW TOG 6 COMMANDER

LTCOL SAMUEL G GOTICO PAF (GSC) was named the new Tactical Operations Group (TOG)6 commander following a Turn-Over of Command Ceremony last November 27, 2009 at Camp General Hernandez, Dingle, Iloilo.  The event was presided by the Commander of 2^nd Air Division, MAJOR GENERAL NATHANIEL C LEGASPI  AFP.

Prior to his present assignment, Lt Col Gotico was the former Director for Operations of the 15^th Strike Wing. The turnover ceremony was attended by MGEN Vicente M Porto, AFP, Commanding General of the 3^rd Infantry Division, BGEN Isidoro T Macaranas  AFP, Vice Commander of the 2^nd Air Division, COL Gerardo T Layug PA (GSC), Commander of the 301^st Infantry Brigade, and other senior military and PNP officers.

In his speech, GEN LEGASPI congratulated the outgoing Group Commander, COL ERNESTO C FONBUENA JR  PAF (GSC) for leading the personnel of TOG-6 for more than two years. He also challenged the new commander to do his best to accomplish the Group’s mission, and contribute to the overall accomplishment of the mission of 2^nd Air Division and of the PAF as a whole. On his part, LTC GOTICO committed to lead the personnel of TOG-6 to its best and encouraged his personnel to do extra efforts to be proud of their existence. He also emphasized to his men the importance of In-STEP to be operationally responsive for peace and development.

Tactical Operations Group-6 Building Inaugurated and Blessed

Tactical Operations Group-6 Headquarters, a newly renovated building inside Camp General Hernandez, Dingle, Iloilo, was inaugurated last November 27, 2009 with the Division Commander, 2^nd Air Division MAJOR GENERAL  NATHANIEL  C  LEGASPI  AFP as the Guest of Honor. Also present during the affair  was the Commanding General of the 3^rd Infantry Division, MGEN Vicente M Porto, AFP. Officiating during the blessing of the said building was Reverend Father Rafael B. Lusuegro, the Director of Angelicum School in Jaro, Iloilo City.

Used to be the barracks of the Enlisted Personnel of the Philippine Army, the building underwent major renovation and is presently used as Headquarters, TOG-6 and the billeting quarters of its personnel. Being a newly transferred unit inside an army camp, TOG-6 personnel are expecting more support from higher headquarters to improve its facilities.
