740^TH CG CONDUCT MEDICAL AND DENTAL MISSION

            At least two hundred indigent patients in different barangays in Batangas City benefited from a Medical and Dental Mission conducted by officers and personnel of 740^th Combat Group.  The mission was successfully accomplished in cooperation with local health workers in depressed barangays. 

            To allay the burden of travel of the elderly and sick patients to the MEDCAP site, the 740^th CG even provided an M35 truck to ferry indigent patients from different Barangays such as Cumba, Sto. Domingo, Maruclap, Talahib Payapa, Haligue Kanluran and Silangan and De la Paz, all of Batangas City.

            Personnel of the unit and the health workers  assisted the patients from registration to documentation of vital signs to facilitate consultation and treatment. Aside from the treatment and free medicines given after each consultation, personnel of the Group offered free haircut.  At least fifty-one children availed of the grooming service.

            During lunchtime, local officials and even those awaiting treatment joined the military personnel in a Boodle Fight prepared by the 740^th Combat Group.

            The day’s activity emphasized the PAF’s commitment to reach out to local folks of indigent areas, attuned to the government’s efforts to help poor communities.#
